2007 La Luz Trail Run

9.0 Mile Ascent of the Sandia Mountains

The 42nd Annual La Luz Trail Run was  held on August 5th, 2007 starting at 7AM Sharp.  It is a 9 mile trail run that starts near the intersection of the road to the Juan Tabo Picnic Grounds and Tramway Road. The race consists of 1.8 miles of paved road and 7.2 miles of dirt single track trail with a 12% grade. The race finishes at the Sandia Crest (10,678') near the gift shop located by the radio and TV towers on the crest. Water stations will be located at the start and finish and at 4 locations on the course.  There is a 400 runner limit imposed on the race by the U.S. Forest Service.

The entry fee is $20.00 dollars until 400 entries are received.  Absolutely no race day registration!  Registration forms will be mailed to last year's entries.  Registration forms will be also be available at various running stores in Albuquerque and on this website.  Walk-in Registration will be available at Fleet Feet Sports - Hoffmantown Shopping Center (Menaul and Wyoming) in Albuquerque.  Online registration will be available at Active.com.

La Luz Registration is Closed!

Registration on Active.com (300 registrants) was full in 20 minutes, and registration at Fleet Feet (100 registrants) was completed in 45 minutes.  There are already 50 people on the waiting list.
